WHERE IS IT?
The picnic will be hosted in Finsbury Park, which can be reached from either Finsbury Park Station or Manor House Station. We will have volunteers waiting at the station to lead the way between 11:30am and 1pm, and will shortly be putting up a map to show exactly where in finsbury park it will be. The reason we are hosting it in Finsbury Park is that it is one of the few parks where such large meetups are allowed.

Fan of the persona/shin megami tensei series? Planning on attending London MCM May Expo 2013? Interested in meeting other persona lovers such as yourself? Well how would you like to attend a persona meet up? Yes, just like the Homestucks meet up every year at expo I’ve decided to host my own persona meet up! (inspired by the midnight persona gatherings in America) I don’t expect it to be big since this was a very spontaneous thought and it is the first one of its kind! If everything goes well I’ll be the fantabulous Rise with the goofy Yosuke (Other Host) from Persona 4.

This is all very much up in the air atm but me and my friend made a public Facebook event where you can RSVP and keep up with any changes or ask any questions! Even to talk and familiarize yourselves with each other before the meet. If you don’t have a Facebook account our ask boxes are always open so don’t hesitate to message us for anymore info!

Here are the details!

WHEN: Saturday 25th May 2013 12pm (noon) (we’ll just pretend its midnight shhh)

WHERE: Over at the big grass area of Excel if you’re unsure or think you may get lost make sure to check out the map of the venue over on the London mcm expo website! Alternatively, I’ll make a sign and try to be as obvious as possible so if you spot me you’ll know you’ve come to the right place! If it does get a bit crowded or the weather turns for the worse we’ll find a place inside again it’ll all get finalized closer to expo when weather conditions are known!

DURATION:You’re free to come and go as you please!! We have no intention of holding you guys there for the whole of Saturday even just a quick high and bye will be more than enough. It’ll be very casual so just relax and the intention is for you to meet other people who have the same interests as you! Maybe even develop bonds of friendship! You’re even free to bring food and we could have a picnic? I’ll try and think of some party games related to persona or just bring twister. If you really do want a time I’d roughly say the meet-up will end around 3pm? Again this is all up in the air and will be finalised closer to the time of expo. I just want to get a rough idea of how many people would be interested in this. I will also post a finalised version of this the week of expo so please keep checking back on Facebook.

On Tumblr I’ll use the tag #london persona meet up when posting any updates. We'll track it too so alternatively you can leave questions there. If you are going to the meet use that tag to post things and again to familiarise yourself with people who are going! Persona cosplay is not required!! Golden Orbit runs shows on many weekends throughout the year in the Midlands and North of England; attracting both the collector and casual browser alike.

Dealers attend from across the UK and sometimes abroad, selling thousands of science fiction, film and comic related material both old and new; Comics, trading cards, toys, tv/film magazines, posters, books, graphic novels, games and all kinds of sci-fi/fantasy material.

All fairs and marts are open to the public from midday and close around 4.30pm.

Planning a day meet unless I get enough interest to do a stay over,

Will aim for everyone at the station for around 11 - 11.30 go to the event maybe finish around 3 ish and go find somewhere to sit and have a picnic before deciding what to do ^_^

General plan will be
  • Meet at the train station between 12 and 1
  • There's a fair amount of shops so we can go shopping after that, probably get food and stuff, you know, usual meet stuff.

Cosplay is now an acceptable hobby, but like many Cosplayers in this beautiful art form one of the main criticisms cosplay faces is that it is just a hobby. Animeleague are ready to launch a highly ambitious project, with the intention to turn aspects of Cosplay into a proper career path.
The Cosplay Section will be launched on the 29th May with the first stage of Careers in Cosplay by the end of the month.

How Will This Be Done?

1. Cosplay Community: Whether you are new to Cosplay or experienced this project is 100% about you, the community. Animeleague are dedicating a section to Cosplay on their forums. Here you can share your cosplay portfolios, ask questions, socialise and make friends. We will also be running a series of Cosplay Social Networking events across the country at conventions.
2. Careers In Cosplay: Cosplay can be seen as a career-path and not solely as a hobby, Animeleague will help to provide a pathway into related professional industries by giving you the opportunity to network with existing professionals in the industry with the potential to develop your skills. (Ie: cosplay prop-makers would be put in touch with prop-companies). This will be largely contributed to via our cosplay mentors.
3. Cosplay Guides & Tutorials: Animeleague will aim to work with you to develop and build a comprehensive guide on the forums full of cosplay tutorials so you can develop your skills.
4. Content Contributors: Animeleague invite anyone who is skilled in a specific area to help provide content and tutorials to their cosplay guide.
5. Cosplay Mentors: We are assembling a team of professionals (and upcoming entrepreneurs in related professions). The team will write articles and invite everyone to ask questions, engage and give direct advice on how to develop that particular area.


Signup Information

Most participants will be standard cosplayers seeking to learn more about how to progress their cosplay. You do not need to signup for this, you drop in, drop out and take on as much or as little as you wish. Simple! Signups only apply for Cosplay Mentors, Moderators and Contributors! See below!

Cosplay Mentors - Job Description

We are currently looking for those on the career path to becoming or with relative experience in; performance, photography, choreography, props accessories, dressmaking, sewing, fashion, modelling, theatrics/acting. We also are looking for anyone who has experience at being a high-profile Cosplayer (ie: very well known), and anyone who owns a Cosplay-company (ie: selling commissions).

Requirements
- Write one main post on the forum under the topic title given every two months.
- Answer questions from others and get people excited about turning Cosplay into a career.
- Have your own panel/talk at an event or to help organize a separate event or social-meet.
- Willing to help those with potential on a one on one basis to help develop them to have a proper career path.
- Help promote Careers in Cosplay online.

Expected Time-Commitment: Approximately 2hrs a week. Does not need to be a permanent commitment.

Cosplay Forum Moderator/Community Leader - Job Description

Requirement: To have a decent understanding of community, forums and how they work. To be organised and committed.

The Role
- Help build community, and keep people engaged. Be a regular poster and participant in the Cosplay forum.
- Resolve any disputes or conflicts between members.
- Help update and maintain the Cosplay guide.
- Source videos and tutorials online or from others within your chosen section and expand the guide.
- Help Promote the Cosplay Forum.

Expected Time Commitment: Approximately 8-10 hours a week.

Why should I take part?

This is a brilliant way to further your careers and expand your contacts in such a difficult industry while helping others learn with you! This role can also be placed on your CV and you may receive free entry to London Anime Con, free entry to the masquerade social and the ability to run your own panel in your chosen industry. You will also be fully credited in the guides.

Over the pass two I have been cosplaying .I have bought both. After going to Doj-con 13 in dundee I have decide to do a cosplay using cardboard:idea:
