Older AL members recruitment.
The Ups and Downs of Roleplayer's Realm.

In AL, there are many forums... Some are fun, some are serious, some are famous, and others are only for the “vets”, however, none are quite like Roleplayers Realm.
In the past, Roleplayers Realm (sometimes called RR for short) was a huge system that almost everyone in AL was involved in at one point or another. An imaginative and helpful staff ran the forum, helping newcomers, running initiations, keeping an eye on private RPGs (Roleplaying Games), etc.
Lately however, Roleplayers Realm has just been a parody of its former self.
With the work of Free, Hikaru, and the other RR mods, we’ve been consistently trying to find new ways to improve and refine the system in the forum: to make it simpler, to make it easier to enter, to incite more activity, to pull the community together. For short bouts of time, the solutions and improvements work quite well, but then the positive outcome fades into the background and things seem even worse then they were to begin with. Then we’re often left with a system that either isn’t exercised or is tangled in knots. What this often leads to is a lot of confusion both on the staffs part and for the members.
Eventually, when the confusion piles up and there’s little communication throughout the forum, we get to the point we were at just a few days ago: Where no one quite knows what’s going on or how to fix it, and so people get heated and argue amongst themselves.
With a series of reforms and newly elected systems, the staff of RR is working on fixing the entire forums problems, as well as all of the problems that occurred in the war and amongst the staff. Some of these changes are already in the process of being made, while others are still in the planning stage, however, we can only hope for the best. So far, we plan on checking on the HGMs and reassigning them, and an assessment on all of the multiverse-aligned characters have already been done. New leaders will replace inactive ones, and the war will be thrown into motion once more.
I personally feel that this is at least a step in the right direction for RR. Pumping life back into the forum is certainly taking a lot of effort on the staffs part, but it should all be worth it by the time we finish. If the players, staff, and assistants cooperate and everything runs according to plan, we won’t have problems of this magnitude again. Again though, I think it’s inevitable for us to have problems at this point. We have a complicated system, incorporating a lot of skilled and opinionated people, but in order to run to the best of our ability, the players and staff need to communicate and make compromises. We have our positions as staff there primarily because we all want to help RR, but we can’t do that without the players. You’re indispensable to us. Without you all, there wouldn’t be a system. In order to form the war and the new multiverse system into a semblance of ‘perfection’, we all need to pull together and do our part as a piece of what used to be a tight knit community. I don’t think most of us want to see RR all but collapse like this ever again, and in order to avoid that, we all need to remember that we’re all members first and foremost. No one cares about your rank, post count, name, level, or how many words you can cram into a post. All that matters is your love for the community and what it’s about: roleplaying. Everyone should just take a step back and remember that, because I think we all need a reminder.
That’s all I really have to say. If you ever need any help, or have opinions and ideas you’d like to share, feel free to private or instant message me, and I’ll make sure they’re heard. This has been a friendly announcement from one of your resident Roleplayers Realm mods, and I hope it made you sit up and take notice.
Older AL members recruitment.

In case you didn't know, AL assistants have been recruiting older original AL members from way back from when AL first started. So I decided to interview some of the older members who have returned to AL and ask them what they think. I asked Yami, Jive Turkey, and Musashiden a few questions.
A couple of them noticed that there was more staff like assistants, a couple of them also noticed something about momentum sparring and someone commented about that when they were last here there was no shop or arcade. Yami didnt seem to recognize that stuff, Yami also mentioned that there wasn't profile pictures, and she also said she would probably not leave AL again, she was planning on staying.
Jive Turkey mentioned one of the reasons he left AL was that, ".. there were too many rival factions when I was last here" but he also said "this place is alot better managed and more friendly". Jive also pointed out that he was only back three days and was loving it so I am pretty damn sure he will be staying. Another observation that he noted was there being less drama; he named a few bad incidences that went through on AL, and then stated, "It's a new crowd but still got the insane AL spirit"
Musahiden seemed to notice the same things as Yami and seems to recognize some older members on here. Ayumi, Ivory and Freesaiyan were three. Musa also plans to stick around the site!
Overall after reading the replies it seems that AL has changed quite a bit over the years. It also seems that they were changes for the better, not to mention the recruitment of older members back to AL is a big success! So for the older members who've returned, welcome back! And to the normal members who havnt left, don't leave because you never know what you might miss! ^_~
